Guests will land in the palm tree-lined oasis village of
Mulege,
then strap in behind the wheel. With the sparking green waters of the Sea of Cortez behind us, the tour will cruise to the remote Pacific
Ocean sands of Scorpion Bay, home to the second longest surf break in the world (over 1.5 miles long!) Lunch will be served featuring
tacos with freshly-caught Lobster.
Once our unique dining experience is complete, it's time to hit the trail!
The tour will travel east toward the Sea of Cortez on challenging (and sometimes daunting) mountain trails that traverse the
Sierra Giganta range. The scenic destination of San Jose de Commondu will provide the perfect opportunity to stop and
take a break before climbing challenging dirt roads toward the incomparable mission village of
San Javier.
Here, tucked high up in a deep mountain valley, exists a community built by Jesuits in 1699.
Wonderfully preserved,
it is as if you've stepped out of a hidden time machine.
A thrilling drive down the steep cliffs and twisting trail lead back to the Sea of Cortez and a final stop in Loreto,
the first established town in Baja. Guests will enjoy a warm greeting and a cold cerveza as they arrive at the picturesque Oasis Hotel.
Sunset arrives just as we prepare to take our Baja travelers to a great Mexican mesquite-grilled dinner at El Nido.
